A distinctive vintage writing set featuring a traditional roll-top secretary desk and coordinating wooden chair with handcrafted mother-of-pearl inlay.
The desk features a smoothly operating tambour roll top, interior cubbies and small drawers, decorative brass hardware, a spacious writing surface, and richly figured wood with a warm vintage finish. The coordinating chair adds an especially decorative element with its detailed mother-of-pearl inlay.
Both pieces came from the private collection of a respected New York antique dealer and cabinetmaker known for restoring quality furniture. They have been exceptionally well cared for and create a ready-to-use statement piece for a home office, library, study, or traditionally styled interior.
The desk measures approximately 34 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 38 inches high.
Excellent vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear. The tambour top and drawers operate smoothly, and the finish presents beautifully. The key operates the drawer; however, the roll-top lock mechanism is currently frozen and does not lock. Please review all photographs for additional condition details.
Estimated to date from approximately the 1970s. Maker is unknown. Desk and chair are sold together as a two-piece set.
