A substantial carved stone bear sculpture signed C. Olivier and dated 1998. The piece has a simplified modernist animal form with strong weight, presence, and natural material character. The mottled stone surface includes gray, brown, rust, and deep green tones, giving the sculpture excellent visual depth from every angle.
At more than seven pounds, this is a weighty decorative object with far more presence than a small tabletop carving. It works beautifully on a bookshelf, console, credenza, desk, lodge-style interior, rustic modern room, or collected sculptural display.
The underside is signed C. Olivier ’98. The artist is identified in the eBay listing as Christopher Olivier, also known under the artistic alias Bexar.

There is a visible natural line or fissure in the stone running along the interior of the right rear leg, as shown in the photos. It follows the natural veining of the stone, and the sculpture remains structurally sound and very solid. Light surface wear may be present, consistent with age and prior display. less
