This elegant bureau à cylindre combines fine marquetry with a practical fitted interior. The
upper section is finished with a pierced brass gallery above a tier of small drawers, and the
curved cylinder top is inlaid with a radiating fan and floral marquetry in contrasting woods.
When opened, the cylinder reveals an interior fitted with small drawers and pigeonholes above
a pull-out writing surface inset with tooled leather. The frieze holds three drawers with gilt metal
pulls, and the desk stands on slender cabriole legs mounted with gilt metal chutes and sabots.
