Elevate your dining space with this striking, rare set of six (6) Italian postmodern dining chairs manufactured by PNI in Italy during the 1980s. This specific design is the rare "Alvise" model, strongly echoing the avant-garde, sculptural sensibilities of Pierre Cardin and Pietro Costantini designs from the era.
Each chair features a dramatic, sweeping wrap-around armrest and back rail crafted from solid wood, coated in a premium, high-gloss black lacquer finish. The defining design highlight is the split architectural backrest, elegantly separated and accented by horizontal natural wood dowel spacers.
The comfortable, cushioned seat pads are wrapped in their original, vibrant 1980s geometric patterned textile named "Tulipano", which perfectly captures the Memphis-milieu aesthetic of the era. All six chairs retain their original manufacturer's factory tags underneath, confirming the model authenticity and Italian production. Alternatively, the drop-in seat design makes them incredibly simple to reupholster if you wish to customize them with a modern bouclé or sleek leather to fit your decor.
A phenomenal find for collectors of vintage Italian modernism and Memphis-style design.

Vintage condition consistent with age and use. The high-gloss black lacquer finish retains an excellent shine, showing minor scuff marks along the front/sides of the arms from contact with a dining table, as well as minor surface wear typical of vintage seating. The geometric fabric upholstery is clean, structurally sound, and free of major stains, tears, or fading. All frames are completely sturdy, stable, and structurally sound. less
