Elegant vintage sterling silver pedestal bowl by Fisher Silversmiths, with a softly rounded bowl, rolled rim, and classic raised foot.
The underside is marked Fisher Sterling Weighted and appears to bear model number 159. Fisher No. 159 is documented as a compote form, making pedestal bowl / compote a more accurate description than the older “finger bowl” attribution.
The restrained silhouette gives the piece a timeless quality that works beautifully in traditional, mid-century, or contemporary interiors. At 4.5 inches in diameter, it is a versatile size for use as a small serving bowl, bonbon or nut dish, tabletop catchall, or simply as a decorative sterling accent.
As is typical of weighted sterling hollowware, the visible silver exterior is sterling over a reinforced base designed for stability.
