Charming petite still life depicting a tipped woven basket filled with apples and fruit, rendered in rich red, green, and golden tones against a dark background. The composition has a traditional European-inspired feel, with expressive brushwork and strong contrast that gives the fruit a luminous quality.
Oil on board, presented in a substantial gilt wood frame with classic molded detailing. The painting measures approximately 7 inches wide by 5 inches high; framed dimensions are approximately 11 inches wide by 9 inches high.
Excellent overall condition. No artist signature was found. The reverse retains a Waterhouse Gallery label from Santa Barbara, California.
A lovely small-scale still life that works beautifully on a gallery wall, bookshelf, easel, or layered into a traditional or collected interior.
