A striking vintage Chinese carved wood storage cabinet featuring detailed figural panels, incised floral decoration, geometric latticework, and traditional drop hardware.
The upper section has four narrow paneled doors with carved figural scenes framed by remnants of aged red, green, and dark-toned pigment. Below, the doors feature incised botanical motifs that add another layer of handwork and visual interest.
The lower portion is especially distinctive, with open geometric fretwork and vertical lattice panels that give the cabinet an architectural quality while allowing ventilation. This type of construction is commonly associated with traditional Chinese food or storage cupboards.
The cabinet retains a warm, aged wood surface with visible grain, patina, color variation, and signs of use that add to its character.
A dramatic piece that works beautifully as a bar cabinet, linen cupboard, entryway storage piece, or statement case piece in an eclectic interior.
Based on its construction, materials, and decorative treatment, we believe this cabinet dates to approximately the late 19th to early 20th century, although no maker’s marks or documentation are present to confirm an exact date.

The wood shows surface scratches, small marks, finish variation, abrasions, and patina consistent with age and use. The carved and painted panels show expected pigment loss and wear. Minor separation and irregularities are present in some wood panels and joints. Hardware shows oxidation and age. Interior surfaces exhibit expected wear and darkening. Please review all photographs closely as part of the condition description. Our inventory features a curated selection of vintage furnishings and decorative pieces, each with its own character, history, and age-related imperfections. As vintage items, condition will naturally vary, and signs of previous use—including minor wear, marks, finish variations, or other imperfections—may be present. These characteristics are part of the individuality and history of each piece. Photographs are provided as an important visual reference for condition, and we encourage buyers to review all images carefully. We believe the beauty of vintage lies not only in its design, but also in the character acquired through a previous life. A single image has been digitally staged to showcase potential placement and styling. The remaining photographs provide the most accurate representation of the piece’s condition, finish, and overall character. less
