This Antique British oak gateleg table combines a compact drop-leaf design with turned barley-twist supports and a warm, beautifully aged oak finish.
With both leaves down, it becomes narrow enough to live against a wall, beside a sofa or in an entry without taking over the room.

Raise one leaf and it works beautifully as a side table, reading table or compact breakfast surface.

Open both leaves and the top expands into a much more generous oval table, making it useful for casual dining, games, drinks or entertaining.

The barley-twist legs and gate supports give the base plenty of architectural interest, while the simple oak top keeps the piece grounded and easy to mix with more modern furniture.
Old English furniture doing what it does best: looking charming while being extremely useful.

Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear.
The oak shows surface scratches, rubbing, finish variation, small marks and patina consistent with age and use.
The tabletop and leaves show visible wear and tonal variation consistent with vintage furniture.
The barley-twist legs, stretchers and gate supports remain visually strong and functional.

DĒSSO NOTE
I clearly have a problem with barley-twist tables now.
But to be fair, they make a very good case for themselves.
Closed, this one takes up almost no room.
One leaf up, it becomes a perfect side table.
Both up, and suddenly you have a real surface for dinner, drinks, books or whatever else your evening requires.
Very practical. Very English. Very hard not to like.
