It has that perfect, unaltered historic character you simply cannot fake. It’s an authentic, early 20th-century working model sailboat featuring a gorgeous carved wood hull, a single mast, and a full gaff-rigged cotton sail framework.
What makes it an ultimate decorator piece is the sheer depth of its surface patina. This piece is the real deal and has the perfect, authentic battle scars to prove it. It features a genuine poured-lead weighted keel and a hanging wooden rudder, showing it was actually built to race on the water decades ago.
The condition is heavily distressed in the best way possible, boasting a gorgeous, original folk art patina. There is beautiful all-over paint loss, weathering, and finish crackling along the carved wooden hull, along with natural age-splitting in the wood grain near the bow deck seams. The cotton sails have naturally ambered over the decades and show some light staining and fraying that only adds to its historic look.
It is structurally stable on its cradle, completely unrestored, and packed with centuries of genuine maritime character. Whether you anchor it on a large living room credenza, place it on a luxury library shelf, or use it as a historic mantel centerpiece, it brings an immediate, high-end maritime heritage look that instantly elevates the entire room.
