An exceptional late-20th-century modernist kinetic sculpture co-created by American design duo Lou Pearson and Robbie Robins. Standing 34 inches tall on a 10-inch square black plinth, this biomorphic gilded bronze artwork depicts fluid, aerodynamic marine sails catching the wind.
Engineered with a precision internal spindle, the heavy bronze upper element smoothly rotates 360 degrees to create a dynamic, ever-changing silhouette. This specific vintage piece is individually hand-inscribed near the base stem as Edition 13 out of a scarce limited run of only 36 pieces.
What I have loved most about living with this sculpture is how dynamic it is. It is truly an interactive work of art. Because of the precision engineering by Pearson and Robins, the entire bronze 'sail' component rotates a full 360 degrees with just a gentle touch. It means the piece never feels static; I love turning it slightly depending on the mood of the room or to catch the afternoon sunlight as it changes throughout the day.
At 34 inches tall, it has an incredible, commanding presence without overwhelming the space. It has served as a magnificent focal point on my table, instantly drawing the eye of anyone who walks into the room. The contrast between the heavy, grounded black base and the fluid, weightless look of the gilded bronze is just stunning in person. Knowing it is number 13 of a very limited run of 36 makes it feel incredibly special—it’s a true conversation starter and an investment piece that I have been proud to display.

As a result, it is in absolute "time-capsule" condition. The original gilded bronze finish is exceptionally brilliant, and the 360-degree kinetic rotating mechanism functions exactly as it did the day it was cast. An incredibly well-preserved collector's example. less
