An original oil, likely on canvas board: a multi-storey stepped adobe pueblo with wooden ladders and a kiva ladder in the foreground, built from strong side light, cast shadow and ochre highlights against a pale sky. The stepped form suggests a Rio Grande pueblo, possibly Taos, though the site is not identified.
Signed "McDonough" lower right. No Southwest painter of that name is on record, so it is offered as an unattributed original. Undated; style and wear suggest mid-20th century.
In a wood frame with brown-and-gold finish and gilt liner, unglazed. Framed approx. 16" x 12.25"; sight approx. 12" x 9".
