Each petal and leaf is a separate knife-loaded stroke over flat knife-cut planes. Oil on canvas, signed "Shunney" lower left.

The signature, subject, technique and signing position match the Nantucket painter Andrew Shunney (American, 1916-1978), for whom potted geraniums were the most repeated subject. The attribution rests on the signature and stylistic comparison; it has not been independently authenticated. Mid-20th century, consistent with his later impasto period (c. 1960s-70s).
