The print was created in 1842 in the workshop of the prominent German lithographer Franz Hanfstaengl in Dresden. The composition depicts a lively street scene with dancing, music and merriment, which is a typical example of the Romantic interest in folk festivals and genre scenes. The lithograph is inscribed in German and Czech and is set in a period frame with a backboard. The sheet shows signs of age and slight stains, which do not detract from its historical value.
