Underneath, hidden, we have a shelf in mahogany veneer of wire pulling through two notches with stop.
In the upper part of this piece of furniture, there are two drawers in mahogany burl opening with knobs.
In the lower part, two doors with a very light mitered frame are equipped with a doucine molding on the inside. In the center, a panel of mahogany burl is accompanied by a center joint in the same taste as the surround of the top. Two wood entrances and an original working lock with key are positioned on these doors which were originally designed to be inset on each side.
Housed in each foot, a column with a large twist in the upper part and a smaller twist in the lower part overhangs a plinth with a mahogany burl groove concealing a large drawer that rests on low Restoration legs.
Antiquarian's comment:
Interesting by its dimensions while being sober, this sideboard in excellent condition is an unusual piece of furniture exuding character and unique characteristics.
