Set of four teak chairs with contoured backrests, ochre-colored fabric-upholstered seats, and tapered legs. Designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors, Sweden, 1962. Original hallmark present.
Made in 1962 for Bodafors, these chairs belong to the most mature era of postwar Swedish design, when teak and essential construction combined with meticulous attention to detail. The design was by Bertil Fridhagen, a key figure in Bodafors, for whom he worked extensively as a designer and chief architect. His attention to proportion and woodwork is particularly evident in the backrest: a slightly curved central teak band fits into the slender frame and culminates in a contoured top with soft contours. The tapered legs and ochre-colored upholstery complete the ensemble, creating a balanced contrast with the teak. Original hallmark present. Good condition. May show signs of wear.
