Iconic “Aggregato Tavolo” table lamp, designed in 1974 by Enzo Mari and Giancarlo Fassina for Artemide, Italy.
The Aggregato series is one of the most characteristic examples of modular design applied to Italian lighting in the 1970s. The project was conceived as a flexible system composed of different interchangeable elements, allowing for combinations of bases, structures, and diffusers to create various configurations.
This table version features a circular black metal base, a slender vertical metal structure, and a wide, conical shade of translucent white methacrylate. The contrast between the dark structural elements and the white shade creates a composition of great formal clarity and a strong graphic presence.
The design reflects Enzo Mari's interest in rational construction, industrial production, and reducing the object to its essential elements. Giancarlo Fassina developed a distinguished career in lighting design and later co-designed the celebrated Tolomeo lamp with Michele De Lucchi.
A particularly representative piece of 1970s Italian design, combining modularity, essential geometry, and functionality.
It is in very good condition, with slight signs of use and wear consistent with its age. The piece is stable and well-preserved.
