Its square, diamond-shaped frame is composed of golden honey-toned bamboo stalks, enhanced by four darker, almost black stalks that intersect diagonally at the corners and extend beyond the frame, terminating in their characteristic natural nodes. This contrast between the light varnished bamboo and the dark, raw stalks creates a refined decorative effect, typical of the Japonisme style of the Belle Époque (circa 1870-1900).

The square, beveled glass (21 x 21 cm) displays a beautiful antique patina, with slight pitting that authentically attests to its age. The back retains its original cardboard and canvas backing, consistent with Napoleon III production.

Overall dimensions: 54 x 41 cm — a lightweight character piece (2 kg), ready to bring an elegant Oriental touch to a hallway, bedroom or living room with wabi-sabi or Art Nouveau inspirations. See less
