The stool features an … Read more An original vintage upholstered stool / tabouret attributed to Jindřich Halabala, produced in Czechoslovakia around 1950. The stool features an unusual rounded, sculptural form divided into padded segments radiating from a central upholstered button. Decorative twisted cord piping emphasizes each individual section and creates the characteristic radial appearance of the piece. The stool is constructed on a wooden base with four wooden feet and retains its original brown upholstery and vintage character. Similar round, segmented Halabala stools from Czechoslovakia are documented from the 1930s–1950s, with examples specifically attributed to Halabala featuring the same rounded segmented construction and decorative piping. A distinctive Central European vintage design piece suitable as an occasional seat, footstool, vanity stool or decorative accent.
