A mid 20th century Jacobean Revival Style three-seat settee, finely crafted in richly patinated hardwood and displaying elaborate carved and pierced decoration throughout.
The tall triple-panel back incorporates woven cane panels framed by deeply carved scrolling foliage, floral motifs and pierced cresting, punctuated by turned finials. Gracefully curved arms terminate in bold scroll-form hand rests. The seat is fitted with a later removable floral upholstered cushion.
The substantial base is particularly decorative, with carved legs joined by an elaborate pierced foliate front stretcher and turned rear stretchers, reflecting the robust architectural character associated with Jacobean Revival furniture.
