This exceptional Late Georgian period (circa 1790–1820) Anglo-Irish cut crystal decanter is a stellar example of early 19th-century European glassmaking mastery. Sculpted in the highly collectible "Prussian" silhouette, the vessel features a powerful, bulbous mallet form that tapers with remarkable architectural symmetry into an elongated, structured neck.
The neck is defined by three prominent, hand-cut annular neck rings (triple facet-cut collars). Historically engineered to ensure a secure grip during formal table service, these structural rings now serve as exquisite prisms that fracture and bounce ambient light. Below the neck, the shoulders dissolve into crisp, tailored slice cuts, cascading elegantly into an absolute tour de force of craftsmanship: a dense, highly graphic band of tightly spaced vertical fluting and comb cuts encircling the lower third of the body.
The decanter retains its rare, correct period lozenge-style (bullseye) target stopper, hand-ground to form a seamless fit within the neck aperture. Standing at a refined 9.5 inches tall, this standard "half-size" format is immensely coveted by modern interior architects. Its compact, sculptural footprint allows it to easily integrate into intimate back-bars, narrow travertine consoles, or tiered brutalist étagères where standard 12-inch magnums would feel spatially disruptive.
For the discerning collector or AD100 design firm, this historic vessel transcends its functional origins. It stands alone as a striking, multi-dimensional sculptural object, bringing a sophisticated historical anchor and exquisite geometric texture to contemporary, minimalist, or classically rooted interiors alike.

The underside of the base exhibits honest, fine shelf-friction scratches, and the interior bottom displays a light, soft cloudiness entirely consistent with period lead glass. The hand-ground lozenge stopper features minor historical fleabites and micro-chipping along its edges and plug, which do not compromise its structural stability or refined presentation. The glass retains superb clarity and a pleasing, substantial historic weight. less
