Both pieces feature a sophisticated glossy black ground embellished with delicate hand-painted gilt floral sprays, butterflies and botanical motifs. The magazine rack is particularly striking, with its graceful curved form, twisted gilt-rope trim, decorative finials and slender gold-tone framework. The wastebasket complements it beautifully with a dramatic scalloped rim edged in gold and finely rendered gilt decoration.

Most importantly, both pieces retain their original hand-painted Bergdorf Goodman inscriptions on the undersides:

Magazine Rack: “Made in Italy for Bergdorf Goodman N° 20”
Wastebasket: “Made in Italy for Bergdorf Goodman N° 5”

Together, the two pieces make an unusually sophisticated decorative pairing and offer wonderful provenance from one of New York’s most celebrated luxury retailers.

Perfect for a library, study, dressing room, bedroom or living room, the set blends beautifully with Hollywood Regency, Chinoiserie, traditional and eclectic interiors. The magazine rack can hold books, magazines or newspapers, while the wastebasket is decorative enough to display prominently.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with light age-appropriate wear. Both pieces present beautifully. Please review photographs for condition details.
