We originally acquired this striking Chippendale-style camelback sofa and commissioned a full professional restoration, having it completely reupholstered in a vibrant, high-quality blue velvet. It was only lightly used after the refurbishing and remains in excellent, incredibly supportive shape. Following our recent move into our new home, we’ve found that the sofa simply no longer matches our current decor and spatial layout, so we are looking to pass it on to a new space.
The craftsmanship on this piece is exceptional. The structural integrity, the fluid lines of the continuous sweeping back, and the heavily detailed mahogany cabriole legs with deeply carved ball-and-claw feet strongly indicate it was produced by a respected 20th-century fine furniture manufacturer such as Hickory Chair, Kittinger, Baker, or Southwood.

The three seat cushions remain firm and highly supportive, and the velvet upholstery is virtually pristine with no stains, tears, or odors, having been only lightly used since the refurbishment. The exposed wooden cabriole legs and carved ball-and-claw feet are in beautiful vintage condition, showcasing minor, natural wear consistent with age and history that only adds to the character of the piece. less
