Rare and highly decorative vintage Jette Nissen Christmas family from Denmark, dating from the 1960s. This complete matching set consists of four original Scandinavian Nisse / Tomte figures and is a charming example of Danish Mid-Century Christmas design.
The group includes two larger and two smaller figures, forming a complete Nisse family. Each figure features the characteristic Jette Nissen aesthetic: rounded sculptural bodies, expressive hand-painted faces, oversized noses, red knitted hats and scarves, and soft white wool used for hair and beard.
The combination of handcrafted details, playful proportions and traditional Nordic Christmas styling gives the set a warm and highly recognizable Scandinavian character. Displayed together, the four figures create a strong decorative presence and work beautifully in both vintage and contemporary interiors.
The complete set is preserved in very good original vintage condition. The painted facial details, knitted textiles, wool elements and bodies are all well preserved, with only minimal age-related wear.
A particularly attractive set for collectors of Jette Nissen, Danish Nisse figures, Scandinavian folk art, Mid-Century Christmas decoration and Nordic vintage design.
