A striking Chinese lacquered cabinet featuring an intricate composition of hardstone and soapstone inlay depicting flowering branches and birds, set against a dramatic black lacquer ground.
The cabinet showcases beautifully detailed floral and foliate motifs, two stylized birds, and an elaborate border accented with gilt-painted geometric and botanical decoration. The contrasting natural tones of the stone inlay create an especially beautiful effect against the deep black lacquer.
The petite proportions make this an exceptionally versatile accent piece—ideal as a nightstand, bedside cabinet, entryway accent, occasional table, or decorative storage cabinet.
The pair of front doors open to reveal interior storage, while the substantial antique-style metal hinges and central latch add to the cabinet's character.
A wonderful choice for interiors incorporating Chinoiserie, Asian-inspired, eclectic, traditional, Hollywood Regency, or collected decorative furnishings.

The lacquer finish exhibits areas of surface wear and patina, and the metal hardware has developed an aged finish. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are considered part of the condition description. The natural variation within the hardstone/soapstone inlay—including variations in color, translucency, and texture—is part of the beauty and character of the piece. less
