A fabulous vintage French porcelain ashtray featuring a portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte surrounded by gilt decoration.
Made in Limoges, France by Goumot-Labesse, the ashtray features three substantial gilt cigarette rests and a wonderfully decorative portrait of Napoleon at center. Equal parts historical, handsome and slightly eccentric—the kind of small object that instantly makes a bar or cocktail table more interesting.
Use traditionally as an ashtray or repurpose as a distinctive catchall for matches, coins or other small objects.
Marked Goumot-Labesse, Porcelaine, Made in France, Limoges on the underside.
