Saturated cobalt blue, violet, lavender, rose and touches of coral create a luminous composition in which water, sky and reflected landscape seem to dissolve into one another.

Loosely rendered lily pads drift across the foreground and recede toward a brilliant passage of reflected pink and white light. Dark reflections along the far edge of the pond provide dramatic contrast, while expressive horizontal brushwork captures the movement and changing surface of the water.

The composition draws on the Impressionist tradition of exploring water, light and reflection, but its unusually intense blue-and-violet palette gives the painting a striking modern presence. Particularly effective from a distance, the work becomes increasingly abstract when viewed up close, revealing individual strokes and layers of color.

Presented in a simple natural wood frame that complements the saturated palette without competing with the painting.
