This example retains its original wooden staves, metal fasteners, crosspieces, and its unusual closure assembly.

The surface shows warm, untouched patina from decades of use. A distinctive piece of American agricultural history that works beautifully as rustic Americana décor or a sculptural storage piece.

Good antique condition consistent with age and working use. Sits flat. Visible water staining to top and sides, surface scuffs, and oxidation.

Original closure components present; closure rests naturally and does not form a tight seal. No refinishing; wear left as found.

Dimensions: approximately 17 inches across the top at widest point by 10.5 inches high.
