Known for his atmospheric and abstracted landscapes and seascapes, Trifonoff uses expressive brushwork and rich color to create wonderfully evocative scenes.

This striking painting depicts a tranquil pond filled with water lilies, rendered in layers of deep blue, turquoise, green, violet, and touches of warm color. Loosely painted lily pads and blossoms emerge from the reflective surface while expressive horizontal brushwork creates a wonderful sense of depth, movement, and changing light. The result has a distinctly Impressionistic quality while retaining Trifonoff's contemporary, semi-abstract approach.

Signed “I. Trifonoff” in the lower left.

The painting is beautifully presented in a substantial high-quality black wood frame with a warm gilt liner. The wide frame gives the work tremendous presence and complements the deep blues and greens of the painting beautifully. Ready to hang and display.

A wonderful opportunity to acquire an original work by an emerging California artist whose paintings are beginning to appear on the secondary market.
