Executed with fluid brushwork, layered transparent washes, and softened transitions, the composition emphasizes color and atmosphere over strict botanical realism, reflecting an American Impressionist approach to the traditional floral still life. Signed "Grossenbach" at the lower left, with an additional inscription at the lower right identifying the artist as "Margaret Grossenbach, Mrs. Charles E. Brown." The backing paper retains a handwritten note indicating that the work was gifted to Morley Hicks and dating the painting to approximately 1925. Presented under glass with a wide mat and decorative painted frame.
