Compositionally, it follows … Read more Representative oak chest of drawers from the 18th century, made of solid wood with distinctive plastic carving. Compositionally, it follows Renaissance morphology, especially by dividing the front surface into cassettes, using ornamental bands, rosettes, acanthus motifs and distinctive figurative elements. The front side is designed architecturally, with an upper drawer decorated with a richly carved ornament and a central ball handle. The lower part consists of a single-wing door with a pair of deeply profiled cassettes, filled with stylized plant and rosette decor. The vertical side pilasters are decorated with relief carving with figurative heads and flowing acanthus ornament. The upper corners are complemented by distinctive plastic mascarons, which give the whole a representative and festive character. The body is robust, structurally solid, mounted on turned ball legs. There is a drawer in the upper part, the lower lockable space is divided by a shelf in the interior.

The oak used has a distinctive pattern, natural depth of color and a noble patina corresponding to the age of the item. The chest of drawers is preserved in very good condition with natural traces of age and use. Minor surface irregularities, patina, older interventions and traces of use are in accordance with the character of historical furniture and underline its authenticity. The whole appears as a high-quality work of art and craft with a strong emphasis on carving decoration. This piece is suitable as a solitary piece of furniture for a historical, castle or stylishly furnished interior. Thanks to the rich relief decor, solid oak construction and distinctive Renaissance morphology, it represents not only practical storage furniture, but also a valuable decorative element with high artistic impact.
