over generations, the maison has developed collections combining classic forms, decorative research, and demanding porcelain decorating techniques. André raynaud continued this tradition from the 1950s onward, before bertrand raynaud, representing the third generation, took over from his father in the early 1990s.

it was precisely during this period that the plaisance model was introduced, around 1994-1995. This raynaud collection was marketed under the céralène brand, a brand historically owned by a. Raynaud & cie.

the plaisance model is distinguished by its particularly rich decoration combining gold and platinum. A wide silver frieze with acanthus leaf and scroll motifs runs along the rim of the pieces, framed by gilt friezes, laurel motifs, and pearls.

the decoration benefits from particularly elaborate craftsmanship: true inlay, double gilding, and agate polishing. This technique gives the gilded parts their brilliant, deep appearance, while the combination of gold and platinum produces the characteristic contrast of the design.

this set is a particularly complete service for six people. It includes twelve dinner plates, allowing for two sets of six plates for two consecutive courses, as well as twelve medium-sized plates suitable for appetizers and desserts. The set is completed by six soup plates, six bouillon cups, six teacups, and six coffee cups, each with its corresponding saucer, except for one tea saucer.

the pieces bear the maison raynaud hallmark on the reverse, featuring its stylized r accompanied by the words "limoges" and "france," as well as the céralène mark.
