One of the most interesting lamps in the history of Danish design. The **Charlottenborg** was originally designed by **Poul Henningsen** in the 1930s. In 1979, it was redesigned by **Sophus Frandsen and Ebbe Christensen** specifically for the Charlottenborg exhibition hall in Copenhagen.
This smaller **5-4½** version was created in 1984 for the concert hall in Aarhus.
The four-shade version was designed to increase the amount of light emitted horizontally, providing better illumination of walls and shelves than the standard three-shade version.
The Charlottenborg is still produced by **Louis Poulsen**, exclusively to order.
