The rounded body is formed from a thick mass of clear glass, encasing a lavender-purple interior surrounded by a sweeping pink layer that follows the contours of the vessel. The oversized stopper continues the same color palette, with a deep violet core surrounded by saturated pink and clear glass. Its short blue-purple stem extends visibly into the neck when fitted, creating another strong block of color within the composition. The considerable thickness of the clear glass gives the decanter a sculptural quality, particularly around the heavy base where the colored layers appear suspended within the crystal. Handcrafted in Murano, Italy, the piece demonstrates the sommerso technique of encasing contrasting colored glass within clear glass. The small scale also makes it suitable for use as a decorative perfume bottle or simply as an Italian art glass object. Very good vintage condition, with no chips or damage. Minor surface wear to the glass body and polished base consistent with age and use.
