The composition beautifully captures … Read more This elegant French Art Deco sculpture features two stylized horses galloping side-by-side on a rectangular base. The composition beautifully captures the essence of the 1920s avant-garde, emphasizing speed, power, and geometric harmony. The horses are positioned in a layered, parallel stance. The front horse leans forward with a raised head, while the horse behind it arches its neck, creating a powerful sense of forward motion and depth. In true Art Deco fashion, the forms are streamlined and simplified. The manes are sculpted into sharp, repetitive ridges, and the musculature is rendered in smooth, sweeping curves rather than realistic detail. The name DIAZ is clearly impressed on the bottom right front corner. The piece is finished in a uniform, glossy cream-white glaze. It features the characteristic fine-line crackle pattern that adds depth and beautifully reflects the light. Excellent vintage condition with a very well-preserved glaze and strong crackle pattern. There is only a tiny, minor chip located on the back of the base, which is completely out of sight when the piece is displayed from the front. No other restorations or cracks are present. See less
