About the Artist
Marta Guevara is a Colombian artist associated with Bogotá’s contemporary art scene and recognized particularly for her vigorous, gestural depictions of animals. Her work was included in Colombian exhibitions beginning in the 1980s, and her drawings were featured alongside works by Doris Salcedo in a 1985 exhibition at Bogotá’s Casa de la Moneda. Guevara’s work is represented in the permanent collection of the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín, which identifies her with Bogotá, Colombia. Her exhibition history also includes group exhibitions documented in the Universidad de los Andes’ Colombian gallery archives.
