Crafted from rich mahogany, the chair features an eye-catching pierced ribbon-and-tassel splat centered by a delicately carved scallop shell motif along the serpentine crest rail. The dramatically out-swept arms terminate in meticulously sculpted scroll handholds and rest on curved supports that flow down to a wide seat. The drop-in slip seat is upholstered in a thick botanical tapestry fabric featuring oversized palm leaves and floral blooms in earthy green, gold, and terracotta tones. Structurally built for longevity, the base relies on sturdy straight legs stabilized by a full H-stretcher system, while a view of the underside shows robust corner-block joinery reinforce the seat frame. This classic master chair balances rich period aesthetics with dependable craftsmanship, making it a spectacular host chair for a dining table or an executive desk seat.
