This is a charming vintage Chinese porcelain teacup, crafted in the form of a Chinese cabbage ( bai cai), a classic motif symbolizing purity and prosperity. The cup features a cylindrical body with a slightly flared rim and a rounded base, beautifully molded in relief to mimic the layered, veined leaves of a napa cabbage. The exterior is decorated with a pale, yellowish-green glaze that transitions to a creamy white toward the center and base, highlighting the dimensional leaf pattern. The interior and base are finished in a smooth, glossy white glaze. The foot ring is unglazed, revealing the raw, sandy-colored clay body. This type of cup is often referred to as a "master cup", a larger, personal cup used by tea enthusiasts. It is a highly tactile and auspicious piece, perfect for tea ceremonies or as a decorative object.
