The hand-finished scalloped edge forms a classic raised rim, a historical detail originally designed to prevent delicate porcelain tea sets from sliding off. The tabletop is supported by a single, centrally positioned turned wood pedestal column showcasing a graceful baluster silhouette. This central support anchors into a stable tripod base comprised of four downswept saber legs, each ending in decorative metal claw-foot caps. Combining traditional style with practical utility, a table of this type functions beautifully as a sophisticated wine stand, end table, or tea table placed next to formal seating.
