Each deer stands on an integral base modeled as swirling, textured waves or clouds. One deer is depicted with its head raised high, looking upward, while the other faces forward with a calm, alert expression. Both feature gracefully curved necks, prominent multi-branched antlers, and small tails. The bronze bodies are finished in a deep, dark patina and adorned with scattered "tuo jin" (gold leaf / mud-gold) highlights, creating a striking contrast. In Chinese culture, the deer is a powerful symbol of longevity, wealth, and auspiciousness, as its pronunciation is a homophone for "prosperity" or "emolument" . Each deer bears a small, cast seal mark on the underside of its base. This is a refined and highly symbolic pair for a collector of Asian antiques.
