An impressive English Edwardian triple armoire crafted from richly figured mahogany and dating to circa 1900. Beautifully proportioned and exceptionally decorative, this substantial wardrobe combines elegant period craftsmanship with an unusually generous amount of practical storage.
The wardrobe is crowned by a substantial molded cornice above a deep frieze accented with fine satinwood stringing and decorative inlay.
At the center are a pair of molded cabinet doors displaying beautifully figured mahogany veneers, cross-banded detailing, satinwood stringing, and period-style brass hardware. The cabinet opens to reveal generous interior shelving.
Below the central cabinet is a fitted bank of drawers consisting of two short drawers above three long drawers, all with mahogany fronts, decorative cross-banded and inlaid borders, key escutcheons, and elegant brass bail handles.
Flanking the central section are two dramatic full-length oval mirrored doors, each framed in mahogany and finely accented with satinwood stringing. The side compartments provide additional storage space.
The wardrobe rests on a substantial deep plinth base, giving the piece an impressive architectural presence while maintaining the refined proportions characteristic of Edwardian furniture.
The warm mahogany coloration, highly figured veneers, contrasting satinwood details, original-style brass hardware, and pair of elongated oval mirrors make this an exceptional statement piece for a primary bedroom, dressing room, luxury closet, guest suite, or historic interior.
Importantly for a piece of this scale, the wardrobe separates into 5 sections for easier transport and installation. It is combined of a base and top and 3 wardrobe sections.
