A wonderfully whimsical vintage sculptural turtle lamp with a striking turquoise painted-metal finish and intricate wire-mesh shell.
The figural turtle is constructed with a dimensional metal body, open mesh shell, articulated-looking spring detail at the head, and elongated sculptural legs. The distressed turquoise finish gives the piece an especially graphic, almost industrial quality, while the integrated light transforms the sculpture into a functional accent lamp.
A fantastic statement piece for a Postmodern, eclectic, maximalist, or contemporary interior, particularly styled on a console, bookshelf, desk, bar, or side table. The unusual animal form makes it equally compelling as an illuminated sculpture or conversation piece.
The lamp plugs into a standard U.S. outlet and has been tested and is lighting properly.
There is no visible maker's mark on the sculpture. The electrical cord/plug bears the marking Ting Shen TS-08, which appears to identify an electrical component rather than the manufacturer of the turtle sculpture and is therefore not being presented as maker attribution.
