This is a charming vintage Chinese gilt bronze sculpture of a standing deer, a classic symbol of longevity, prosperity, and auspiciousness in Chinese culture. The deer is modeled in a lively, alert pose with its head raised, antlers spread, and one front leg lifted, as if stepping forward. The surface features a striking, distressed finish: a mix of bright gold gilding, dark bronze patches, and vibrant cinnabar red accents. The motif is traditionally known as (Sheng Cai You Lu), which translates to "There is a path to wealth," making it a highly auspicious decorative piece for a home or office. The red and gold combination is particularly favored in Chinese interiors for attracting good fortune.
