Striking graduated pair of vintage 1980s brass planters or cachepots, featuring complementary cylindrical forms and a handsome repeating diamond-patterned surface.
The larger cachepot has an especially strong decorative presence, with its tall straight-sided form, rolled rim, horizontal banding and allover diagonal lattice design. The smaller coordinating planter repeats the warm brass construction and banded detailing, creating an attractive graduated two-piece collection when displayed together.
Decades of natural aging have produced a wonderfully complex patina ranging from warm antique gold and coppery brass to deep bronze and brown. The interiors retain evidence of previous planter use and substantial oxidation, reinforcing the authentic vintage character of the pair.
Ideal for displaying houseplants, small trees or dried arrangements, these also work beautifully empty as sculptural brass vessels. The graduated sizes are particularly effective displayed together beside a hearth, on a console or incorporated into a collected grouping of vintage brass.
