The body is framed by substantial double-banded detailing along the upper and lower edges, while the central panel features a rhythmic pattern of raised diagonal fluting. A pair of large applied ring handles adds architectural interest and gives the piece a particularly attractive classical profile.

The brass has developed a rich, naturally varied patina with warm gold, bronze and copper tones, darker oxidation and areas where the original brighter brass remains visible. The unpolished surface gives the piece considerably more depth and character than a newly manufactured brass planter.

Its low oval proportions make it particularly well suited as a tabletop jardinière, orchid planter, succulent container or floral centerpiece. It can also be displayed empty as a decorative brass vessel on a console, coffee table, bookshelf or mantel. See less
