Striking vintage large ceramic ashtray produced by Bitossi Ceramiche for export through Rosenthal Netter, dating to the 1960s. This sculptural piece features a bold round form with a smooth rim and a vibrant interior.
The center displays a beautiful stripe of thick and thin in gold and dots of white surrounded by a smooth decorative border. The outer frame has smooth details, giving the piece a strong brutalist mid-century character.
Originally designed as an ashtray, it also works wonderfully today as a decorative catchall dish or accent bowl for keys, coins, or small objects.
Italian ceramics imported by Rosenthal Netter during the mid-century period are highly collectible and admired for their distinctive modern design and craftsmanship.
