A handmade, rustic, footstool from the 19th century made with Mortise and tenon joints. The smooth, shiny patina with many "character" lines shows off the many years of use. The stool is in the style of old Chinese country low frog stools.
The footstool has some old slivers of metal in one joint on the top as shown. Also one leg is a little loose but still sturdy. The pads can be taken off.
