The sign is crowned by a dimensional buffalo head set within an oval medallion, referencing Buffalo, New York, where the William Simon Brewery operated. Additional raised decoration includes the Simon Pure trademark medallion and the slogan "The Best Taste in Town." The layered relief construction, rustic faux-wood treatment, and dimensional animal figure give the piece a sculptural quality characteristic of late 20th-century tavern and brewery advertising. Simon Pure was a longstanding regional beer associated with the William Simon Brewery, whose history in Buffalo traces to the 19th century.
