Early 20th-century drugstore display sign produced for E.R. Squibb & Sons of Brooklyn, New York, the pharmaceutical company that would later become part of Bristol Myers Squibb. Distributed to authorized purveyors of Squibb products under specific display requirements, the sign features deeply intaglio-carved lettering highlighted in gilt against a dark grain-painted ground. The decorative panel is protected beneath glass and housed within a molded dark wood frame, giving the commercial advertising piece the appearance of formal period signage. Its restrained presentation and pharmaceutical provenance make it a distinctive example of early 20th-century American drugstore and mercantile advertising.
