Antique reverse-painted glass mercantile sign for Goodman & Crutchfield, an undertaker firm operating in Cooper County, Missouri from 1918 to 1923 under J. Henry Goodman and W. E. Crutchfield. The elongated sign features bold gilt lettering accented by red drop shadows against a black field, creating pronounced contrast and dimensionality despite the restrained composition. A narrow gilt border surrounds the lettering, while the original-style painted wooden frame complements the dark glass panel. With its documented Missouri business provenance and distinctive early 20th-century commercial lettering, the piece offers an unusual example of American mercantile and funerary trade signage.
