The gilded frame retains a rich, authentic gold-leaf finish, displaying some expected signs of age, including light surface scuffs, small chips in the gold finish particularly along the outer frame edge, and superficial cracks typical of aged plaster or wood composite molding. The convex glass is intact and clear and sturdily mounted in the inner ebonized reeded slip. Overall, this is visually striking statement piece ready for display.
